Now Fr. Nicolas talks about the globalization of ‘Superficiality’ on comparison with Depth which is required in our apostolates.
Fr. Nicolas gives importance to three languages of history, prophecy and wisdom in the Church.
Fr. Nicolas is talking about importance of listening, discerning and acting in accordance with Pope, who starts his action in October!
Fr. Nicolas insists the importance of listening to the reality which always shakes our heart and mind for discernment.
Fr. Nicolas is now talking about inner change in a person to change the society radically. Communism and capitalism failed in such a fundamental social change.
Fr. Nicolas insists that we should not use our ‘jargon’ language like discernment rather should simplify our way of speaking with wisdom.
Fr. Nicolas says that we should get used to failure because the Cross of our Lord itself was a failure in a sense. Jesuits are often seeking results. But especially the poor often fail. So to accompany them in discernment endurance is importance.
Fr. Nicolas distinguishes three types of frontiers. One is sociological, most visible. Second is about our professions, for example, brains of children are now developing in different way. Third is about our daily life like family.
Fr. Nicolas says that most people just pray in many different ways. We should be careful that we often think that people out of church don’t have faith, but it’s not true. Wisdom to know how we can sense the way how God works in each of them is important.
Fr. Nicolas concludes his input that each culture has its own depth which requires so long time to search, giving his own experience in Japan as a missionary.
